SUSANNA MARTIN was born on 3 Mar 1804 at PA. Her common name was Susan Martin. She was the daughter of John and Susanna (Ourie/Urey) Martin. John was born about 1774 in "Little" York Co., PA and died about 1847, probably in Licking Co., OH. Susanna was born about 1777, probably in PA and died about 1818 in PA or OH. John Martin remarried to Margaret Messencope on 11 Feb 1819 in Belmont Co., OH. Susanna married Thomas S. Dillehay, son of Benjamin1778 Dillehay and Rachel Slater, on 1 Feb 1827 at Guernsey Co., OH. They continued to live in Guernsey Co. through the 1830-1850 censuses. Susannah, her sisters Rachel and Angeline [Anne] were all listed as living in Guernsey Co., OH on 3 July 1858 [in the estate settlement of their father John Martin, Licking Co., OH]. Susannah is listed in final settlement of John Martin's estate, 3 July 1858 and other proceedings beginning July, 1853. These are recorded in the Partition records, Vol. D, pages 354-361; Vol F; and other volumes of the Licking Co. OH Clerk of Court, Courthouse, Newark, OH. After the erection of Noble Co. in 1851 she and husband Thomas appeared on the census of 22 Jun 1860 at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio. and remained there through the census of 1870. Susanna died on 29 Jun 1874 at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio, at age 70. She was buried 31 June 1874 at St. Marys Fulda, Enoch Twp, Noble Co., Ohio. Children of Susanna Martin and Thomas S. Dillehay : i. Two unnamed females were born between 1827 and 1830 and appeared on the census of 1830 in the household of Thomas S. and Susanna Dillehay at Oxford Twp., Guernsey Co., OH. They died before 1840 at Guernsey Co., OH. ii. BENJAMIN M was born on 28 Nov 1830 at OH. He was baptized on 12 May 1831 at St. John Catholic Church, Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio. On 9 Feb 1854 at Noble Co., OH he married Catherine Ann McClaskey, daughter of Joseph McClaskey and Mary (Maiden Surname Unknown) McClaskey. Benjamin and Catherine were recorded in the census on 9 Aug 1870 at Enoch Twp., Noble Co., OH and again in 1880 and 1900 at Enoch Twp, Noble Co., OH. Benjamin died on 26 Apr 1905 at Noble Co., OH, at age 74 and was buried ca 28 Apr 1905 at South Olive Cemetery, Noble Co., OH. iii. MARGARET J was born circa 1832 at OH. She married Jesse Brown on 6 Jan 1854 in Noble Co., OH. She appeared on the census of 22 Jun 1860 and again on 10 Aug 1870 with Jesse Brown at Enoch Twp., Noble Co., OH. They were not identified in the 1880 census in any state. iv. JOHN M was born in Aug 1832 at Guernsey Co., OH. He married Minerva Hughey on 5 Dec 1878 at Guernsey Co., OH. They had no children. He appeared on the censuses of 1840-1870 in the household of his father Thomas S. Dillehay at Enoch Twp., Noble Co., OH. John M. and Minerva Dillehay were recorded in the census on 18 Jun 1900 at Enoch Twp., Noble Co., OH. John died circa 1905. v. MARY EMALINE was born circa 1837 at OH. Her common name was EMALINE DILLEHAY. She appeared on the censuses of 1840 and 1850 in the household of her father Thomas S. Dillehay at Millwood Twp., Guernsey Co., OH. By the census of 22 Jun 1860, she was shown in the household of Thomas S. Dillehay at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio. She married John Carnell on 22 May 1862 at Noble Co., OH and died on 9 May 1865. vi. THOMAS J was born circa 1839 at OH. He married Sarah Catherine Vaughn on 1 Dec 1870 at Noble Co., OH. He appeared on the censuses of 1840-1850 in the household of his father Thomas S. Dillehay at Millwood Twp., Guernsey Co., OH. and on the censuses of 1860 and 1870 in the same household but at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio. Thomas J. and Sarah Dillehay were recorded in the census on 2 Jun 1880 at Enoch Twp., Noble Co., OH. I'll be glad to share other data with you if there are people of interest to you in this family.
