I am looking for any help or suggestions in trying to locate the death and family of MARGARET SKIES. She was born in Pennsylvania about 1825, and by 1855 lived in Pawtucket, Bristol County Massachusetts where she married MICHAEL McGUIGAN, aka GOODWIN. The family moved from Massachusetts to Wisconsin in the early 1860s, but I believe Margaret may have died some where along the way. In 1870 Michael was living in Milwaukee with two older children, and three younger children were living in Menomonee, Waukesha County, Wisc. with JANE S. DELANY. I believe JANE S. DELANY, born in Pennsylvania, was a sister of MARGARET SKIES. Jane had also lived in Pawtucket, Mass. with her husband EDWARD DELANY, and their first son, WILLIAM DELANY was born in Pennsylvania. Another family member was MARY E. HARTLEY or HARKLEY, b. in Pennsylvania. She lived with Jane Delany and her family in Wisconsin also, and was called "a niece" of Jane's. I found the following few families in 1850 Pennsylvania: Allegany County, Pennsylvania: John Skees, 24, with a James (6) and Edward (21) all born in Pennsylvania John Skees, 70, with a Sarah (43) both born in Pennsylvania Chester County, Pennsylvania Jane Skies*, 71, with a James (39), Harman (37), John (32) all born in Pennsylvania *Although indexed as Skies, the name appears to be Stiles on the census Luzerne County, Pennsylvania Albert Skees, 57, with Emily (43), Emily (13), Lucy (10), Sarah (8), John B. (6), Reufield (4), all born in Pennsylvania Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, Spring Garden Ward 2 Margaret Skeis, 16, born in Pennsylvania, living with Gideon and Mary Pritchard, both born in New Jersey. Washington County, Pennsylvania: John Skeys (21) with a Margaret (21), living with Nathaniel McCash, 73, all born in Pennsylvania Would appreciate any help to find the parents of Margaret, or her death, or family, or any suggestions about this surname.
