I'm especially interested in learning the parents and siblings of Jacob's father, John Martin and Jacob's mother Susanna (Ourie/Urey). JACOB MARTIN was born circa 1817 at PA. He was the son of John and Susanna (Ourie/Urey) Martin. Susanna died about 1818 in PA or OH and John Martin remarried to Margaret Messencope on 11 Feb 1819 in Belmont Co., OH. Jacob married Jane LeFever, daughter of Mindrot (Minor)(Minard) LeFever and Elizabeth Anderson, on 25 Oct 1841 at Guernsey Co., OH. Jacob and Jane LeFever lived at Monroe Co., OH on 9 May 1849. He and Jane, together with Jacob's brother Joseph Martin and Louisa Martin his wife sold their rights in the Licking Co., OH estate of Jacob's & Joseph's father, John on 9 May 1849. Jacob Martin was recorded in the census on 11 Sep 1850 at Union Twp., Monroe Co., OH. Jacob is listed in final settlement of John Martin's estate, 3 July 1858 and other proceedings beginning July, 1853. These are recorded in the Partition records, Vol. D, pages 354-361; Vol F; and other volumes of the Licking Co. OH Clerk of Court, Courthouse, Newark, OH. Jacob Martin was recorded in the census on 25 Jun 1860 at Center Twp., Noble Co, OH; in the census on 21 Jan 1870 at Ward Twp., Hocking Co., OH; in the census on 24 Jun 1880 at Union Twp., Morgan Co., OH and in the census on 1 Jun 1900 at Union Twp., Morgan Co., OH. Jane (Lefever) Martin died 21 Jan 1888. "Cemeteries of Deerfield and Union Townships, Morgan Co., Ohio" lists her but not Jacob in Fairview Mission Cemetery on state road 78 about 11 miles SW of McConnelsville. Jacob died circa 1890, probably in or near Union Twp. His place of burial has not been found. Children of Jacob18171 Martin and Jane LeFever were : i. JOHN W., born Jan 1844; married Phebe Carpenter on 7 Feb 1867 at Hocking Co., OH. John and Phebe were in the 1920 census at Cardington Village, Morrow Co., OH but were not found in 1930. ii. ANN E was born circa 1846 at OH. Ann was recorded in the 1860 census with her parents in Center Twp., Noble Co. but was not found after that. No marriage record was found. iii. JOSEPH M was born circa 1847 at OH, probably Monroe Co. He was recorded with his parents in the 1870 census at Ward Twp., Hocking Co., OH. iv. HANNAH SUSAN, born circa 1850 at Monroe Co., OH. Her common name was Susan. She married Jefferson Osborn Lehew, son of Samuel Osborn Lehew and Temperance W. Buell, on 8 Apr 1872 at Hockng Co., OH. Susan and Jefferson Lehew appeared on the census of 11 Jun 1900 at Trimble Twp., Glouster P.O., Athens Co., OH. Susan died after 1910, probably at Trimble Twp., Athens Co., OH. v. MARY J was born in 1851 at Monroe Co., OH. Mary was recorded in the 1860 census in her parents' home at Center Twp., Noble Co., OH vi. MELISSA was born circa 1855; she married Lewis Remy, son of James Remy, on 6 Jan 1874 at Morgan Co., OH. They were shown in the census of 24 June 1880 in Union Twp., Morgan Co., OH. vii. MARTHA was born between 1857 and 1858 at Monroe Co., OH; She married Charles Winland on 13 Aug 1876 at Monroe Co., OH. They were on the census of 25 Jun 1880 at Center Twp., Noble Co., OH. viii. JAMES C was born in Jan 1859. He married Rebecca S. Shell, daughter of John Shell and Mary Dawson, on 26 Apr 1881. James and Rebecca were recorded in the census on 21 Jan 1920 at Union Twp., Morgan Co., OH. He died circa 1925. ix. MARGARET ELLEN was born circa 1861 at OH; She married Theodore W. Creighton, on 7 Jan 1881 at Morgan Co., OH. x. CHARLES E was born in 1866 at OH. He appeared on the census of 24 June 1880 in his parents' household at Union Twp., Morgan Co., OH.
