    3. Hi, Nancy, The years for immigration listed on the censuses tend to vary, and should be viewed as guidelines only. However, I did a look through the Passenger and Immigration lists at Ancestry for you. I found one exact name match, a Frederick Koerner who immigrated in 1845, but the source was a Philadelphia naturalization record and you've already got his from York, PA. I fiddled around with the soundex, took his name down to Fred, just "F", etc. Finally, I searched for all "Koerner" names, exact spelling, for years between 1845 and 1861, and I got one "??? Koerner" who could just be yours. He just happens to have immigrated in the year 1851, in NY, NY. Here's the source if you want to check it: Source Publication code: 8660.1 Primary Immigrant: Koerner, Mr. Source Bibliography: Smith, Clifford Neal. Reconstructed Passenger Lists for 1851 via Hamburg: Emigrants From Germany, Austria, Bohemia, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia, and Switzerland to Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the United States and Venezuela. (German and Central European Emigration Monograph, 2.) McNeal, Ariz.:Westland Publications, 1986. Parts 1-4. 168p. Page 3. That's all that is offered. There is also a Friedrich Koerner who came through in 1850, but he arrived in New Orleans. This seemed a bit south for you. But let me know if you want that source citation as well.
