Anyone can go to their nearest Family History Center and search census files through Ancestry.com. To find the closest FHC go to: www.familysearch.org ; then select Family History Library System, then select Family History Centers, and fill in the blanks to find one. If you do not like the printout you can, for a small fee, request the microfilm to be sent to that FHC and print out from that. I would also add that the FHC has a wonderful index of the 1880 census that gives the roll, film no. etc. You can also get a list of all of the persons in a particular county by one surname which may lead to other persons. Many public libraries are now subscribing to Ancestry.com and/or HeritageQuest and one can go to any public library and use their computer to access these records at no cost. In Maryland, anyone with a 14-digit library card number can also access HeritageQuest from home through their library. The Genealogy Nut
