    3. In general......did the records stay in the newly formed counties and/or did Virginia keep the records? I'm looking for the parents of Robert Erwin/Irwin, b 1803 Westmorland Co., PA. I've hit a brick wall where he is concerned....do I need to search Virginia records? Robert married Elizabeth WALLACE, b 1803 in Adams Co., OH in 1825. I assume he was in Westmoreland Co. PA between 1802-1825. I haven't found anything on Elizabeth WALLACE either.
