Kate: The following is mentioned in "points of interest" along the Swatara Creek in PA. Check the link that follows to pin down the location. Maybe this is what you're looking for. Reed's Fort. The house of Adam Reed, Esq., was turned into a fort in 1755. Here, with rangers from Hanover Township, Reed protected the people of the countryside against Indian raids. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/watertrails/swatara/trailguide.htm Nelson -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of ross kate Sent: Thursday, September 28, 2006 1:16 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [PA] Request , please: where was Fort Reed? Hello I need help in finding the location of an old fort. I recently received a copy of an old document stating that an ancestor was at Fort Reed at one point. This ancestor was in both Clark or Floyd Counties in Indiana at different times, dying in Indiana. Have you heard of a Fort Reed and if so could you describe it and it's location. This person had also been previously in Kentucky, before that Fayette Co., Pa and was probably born in Virginia. Thank you, Kate Ross __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
