He married Elizabeth Dennis b. 05 June 1789; d. 14 Oct 1860 near Pine Banks, Greene Co., Pa; bur. Overture-Hudgin Cemetery, Gilmore Twp., Greene Co., Pa. They had these children: Joseph Dennis b. 09 March 1816 prob. Union Twp., Fayette Co., Pa., d. 1834 Margaret Susan b. 10 Jul 1817, Union Twp; d. 16 Nov 1892 Robert Henry b. 12 May 1819; d. aft. 1860 Laura Gay b. 18 March 1821; d. 23 Jan 1873 Elizabeth Dawson b. 18 April 1823; d. 18 Sep 1823 John Dawson b. 10 Aug 1824 Mary Dawson b. 06 Oct 1824; d. 1851 Levi Downer b. 14 Aug 1831 d. 1831 I am interested in the surnames Dawson and Downer used as middle names and wonder if they are surnames of related families. I have not been able to find the parents of either Philip Hudgin or his wife Elizabeth Dennis. Any clues whatever are encouraged to help break down this brick wall.
