I have a wonderful reference book, "Adoption Agencies, Orphanages and Maternity Homes: an Historical Directory" written by Reg Niles. Entry 470: 1933 Census, St. Joseph's Orphan Asylum, no address, In Pittsburgh: 261 white children, Age 2 - 18. 1923 Census/1922: St Joseph' (s) Orphan Asylum, Troy Hill Pittsburgh, 205 orphan and dependent white children of Pittsburgh, Age 2 - 12, under Catholic Auspices, operated by school sisters of Notre Dame: established in 1849. These others are listed: Entry 468: Saint Joseph Temporary Home for Children Entry 469: Saint Joseph's Industrial Institute Entry 471: Saint Joseph's Prortectory Entry 472: Saint Joseph's Temporary Home If you want the rest of the information on these I can send them to you.
