Hi Listers, Need opinions and ideas with this family. 1 James Augustus Brennan b: February 28, 1855 Wilkham, PA (per death cert. - no such town that I can find) d: October 17, 1904 Philadelphia, PA Burial: October 21, 1904 Holy Cross Cemetery, Philadephia, PA Census 1880: Philadelphia, PA (says James was born in Ireland) The "Catholic Standard and Times Oct 1904 lists his birth place as Sandy Run, PA (can't find that town either) The city obit says that he was a well known minor league baseball player. Now, here's another twist. I checked the Encyclopedia of Baseball Catchers. There was, in fact, a James Brennan that played baseball, But his birth name was John Gottlieb Dorn born in St. Louis, MO. Can anyone come up with an opinion what happened with that info? I'm most interested in finding info on the first family, as quite possibly they can sort out their father's story. By the way, per his marriage cert with Catherine Meagher, it states his parents as John and Bridget McGinty Brennan. Could they have adopted him? Called Philly City Archives and they want a small fortune to look up these sons since I don't know a year. .. +Annie T. Also, they checked 8 other parishes for their baptismal. None!!
