The census tells where Nicholas and Susanna were born, the birthplace of their parents, and same for the rest of the family. Lottie was born in Pennsylania, her parents were both born in Switzerland/Germany. The census tells us that John and Lottie have been married for two years at this point....so abt 1908 marriage can be inferred. Nicholas was born in France, as were both his parents. Susanna was born in Germany, as were both her parents. John is listed as being born in Germany. Hope this helps Karen
