Claudia- The will of Frederick RIDAR was written 30 Dec. 1809 and probated 23 Feb. 1810. The will lists the children you mention below. York County probate records show a Frederick REIDER in the records in 1811 and another in 1831 (both Washington Twp.) and a Laurence REIDER in 1786 (Windsor Twp.). Also, in York County Church records, a Frederick REITER and Eliza. Marg. DICKIN were sponsors at the baptism of Elisabeth Marg. BECK daughter of Heinrich BECK and wife Elisabeth, who was baptized 29 March 1755. The baptism if recorded in Jacob LISCHY's Private Pastoral Record. I'd continue to look for any of the above spellings and any additional variants you can think of. Joan In a message dated 6/22/2008 12:10:07 P.M. To all Listers, Someone e-mail this to me ( Below )a couple of years ago and am unable to find any more info or contact anyone in Pennsylvania. ________________________________________________________ Bill Mumley I am the oldest of 7 Mumley children born to William E. Sr. who was the son of Raymond William Mumley. Raymond had four children: Margaret (Conway; now deceased), William Sr., Raymond, and Agnes (Brown; still living). My grandfather, Raymond, moved to PA from Vermont sometime before 1930, although I don't know who long before that. Originally, according to family oral history, he or his parents lived in Canada. The original name was Montminey, anglosized to Mumley somehow. I was surprised to find many Mumleys on the Yahoo search engine, most living in Vermont; others scattered down the east coast all the way to Florida. I am interested in getting hooked into the Mumley network. I have four sons who will hopefully carry the name into further generations. My two brothers: Glenn Joseph Mumley of Delaware and Paul Godfrey Mumley of Pennsylvania have no sons. Glenn is a childless divorcee and Paul has 3 daughters. If someone could update me on this family tree network I would appreciate it very much. My sister has been in touch with another Mumley who is probably in the loop but I would like to get as much info as possible. Thank you to whoever can give me some scoop. Curiously, Bill Mumley (home on furlough from a missionary assignment in Africa) Thank You in advance, Ed ____________________________________________________________ Sweepstakes!!! Well, you would do best to post a query about your Vermont ancestors on the Vermont list--but we'd be interested in learning which MUMLEYs you wish to learn more about who lived in PA. Names, dates, and places would be most helpful. Joan In a message dated 6/19/2008 5:34:40 P.M. Hi, Edward- Are you doing a "one name study" on every person with this surname or are you attempting to trace back your own specific family line? If the latter...let us know what specific information you are looking and how far back you have already traced your family and perhaps someone will be able to add something to what you already know or suggest where you should look next.
