The name of the church on Front St. is: "THE MOST HOLY BLESSED VIRGIN CHURCH" it is the Russian Church that my mother went to, and St John Devine Russian Cemetery where most of my Russian family is buried. It is on Rt.97 off of Rt. l 90, I went through all of the cemetery and took pictures and logged where each stone was, a couple of years ago. Then went to Marianna, PA. to the Russian Cemetery & Church of St. Nicholas. It was the first Old Rite Russian Orthodox Church in America, and my G-Grandfather was one of the men that built that church. These Churches are of the "OLD BELIEVERS" They are the Old Ritualist know for their strict adherence to the practices of the Russian Orthodox Church as it existed prior to Patriarch Nikon. They have preserved an ancient form of singing, known as Znamenny Chant, that contiunes to draw the attention of other Orthodox Christians, as well as scholars and historians. "Where in PA would be my best bet to locate information on this family, specifically George's parents?" My best suggestion would be to go to the courthouse in Pottsville. It is a few miles north of Schuylkill Haven, and easy to get to. Check wills, legal transactions, orphan's court records to see if there is anything available there. If you know the religion of the family church records might be helpful too. Judy
