Thanks to all those people who have helped me with my Bartlett information, it is most appreciated. I am now trying to put everything together and see if I can find anyone from the family down the line that is still alive and hopefully get in touch with them. Thanks again Diane
Hello I live in the UK and am looking for anyone connected with an Aaron Bartlett - I found the following so far Aaron BARTLETT Birth Date: 30 Jan 1898 Death Date: Feb 1981 Social Security Number: 175-03-7320 State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Pennsylvania Death Residence Localities ZIP Code: 15644 Localities: Jeannette, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania Death Benefit Localities Zip Code: 15644 Localities: Jeannette, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania He was the son of Aaron Bartlett and Emily Maud Watkins who emigrated to the States between 1906 and 1908 from Abertillery in Wales. Aaron Snr went into the States via Ellis Island and the rest of the family through Philadephia. Other family members are John, Mabel, Beatrice, Bernard, Hayden and Creddwyn that I know of. Originally Aaron and Emily lived in Wellsburg West Virginia and both died and are buried there. Aaron Snr remarried a Pancie ? after Emily's death. Hi, There is an Aaron Bartlett in Wellsburg, WV in the 1930 census. It says that he was born about 1872 (age 58), and lives with Pansy (age 48) and Creddon (who is 10). Perhaps he lied about his age to marry a younger woman! It says that Pansy was first married age 44, so they were married about 1926. Let me look around some more... do you want to send me your email so that I can respond off list? Diane - There is a passenger list on Ancestry.com that shows Aaron Bartlett and his family sailed from Liverpool 3 Jun 1908 on board the SS Merion. He was 40, a miner, spoke English, had a brother W. Bartlett who lived in Monmouthshire. With him are his wife, Maud (31) and Beatrice (11), Mabel (9), Aaron (7), and Bernard (3). I can't make out the last permanent address, but will be happy to send the file off-list if you will send your e-mail address. I am looking for the whereabouts of the case files for the children 'out placed' by the Pennsylvania Children's Aid Society between 1909 -1920's. Is there an index of these children? I know at one time the Pennsylvania Historical Society had some of these case files. Do they still? I have a good friend whose father was placed with a family (Mennonite, I think), and he never knew his parents. His father is now passed on, and my friend would like to know who his grandparents were. Any help locating these files would be greatly appreciated.
