    1. Re: [PA] DNA Matching services..
    2. John I live in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. Over 300+years , it originally was Chester, then 1729 Lancaster, then 1785 Dauphin, then 1813 Lebanon. You need to know the change to search PA accurately. ySearch is the largest public DNA database. It is maintained by FTDNA and holds 140,000 tests. You can import your test from Europe to it for free. I will send you the site from my genealogy address _Gbs28m@aol.com_ (mailto:Gbs28m@aol.com) (mailto:addressGbs28m@aol.com) Let me know if I can help you. Mel Bowman Palmyra, PA In a message dated 12/4/2008 1:37:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, john_w astle@btinternet.com writes: I live in Scotland, the company that did my test is in England and they are called Family Genetics. I have inputted my marker scores in a couple of company data bases, unfortunately, there is no central data base that one can access, and each company is in the business to make money, so it probably doesn't make sense to them to agree to a central data bases. In which case I'm trying to find which companies allow access and inputs to theirs. I am trying to trace my father or blood relatives of my father, whom I am led to believe came from Pennsylvania. 2. I don't believe RootsWeb can block mail coming TO the list address from a list subscriber (and these reunion posts DO come FROM the subscriber's address). If an individual subscriber continuously is a problem sending inappropriate emails to the list, the list admins can block their posts and review them for appropriateness before letting them through to the list. That said, I wouldn't take that action based upon an "oops" that person made on a single occasion as long as the list member learns from the mistake. I wouldn't advise individual list members to block any mail coming to them from the list if that means they refuse the messages and they bounce back to RootsWeb because if that happens the list member blocking list mail would be automatically unsubbed from the list. If you can filter "reunion.com" to a spam folder -- feel free to do that if you like. Ok--enough said on this subject--anyone have a genealogy question to get the list back on-topic? Thanks! 3. Birth and death records are available at the county seats beginning 1893 to 1905. Marriage records are available in the county where the license was issued beginning in 1885 for all counties. Some of the cities have them earlier. I found a death certificate in the City of Bradford in McKean county. 3. Kathy: Knowing the name of the church is rather essential. Otherwise you would have to review all the various available churches in the county or given area of research. In other words, a lot of looking perhaps days. No particular method to follow, luck sure helps. LOL! Don >
