I, too, am interested in Smiths, especially from Bucks County. I'm trying to link son (William D. Smith) to father (James Smith) and, of course, move backwards in time. I have some evidence that points toward the connection. The first Smith family: James Smith (b. abt 1765) and Nancy Darrah (b. abt. 1770) with children: Samuel A. (b. abt. 1795), Rebecca (b. abt 1798), Martha (b. abt 1800), Robert (b. abt. 1805), William D. (b. abt. 1806), Mary (b. abt 1808) and Susan (b. abt. 1811). This family was located primarily in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County. The second Smith family: William D. Smith (b. abt. 1806) and Catherine Martin (b. abt. 1828) with children: Andrew Jackson (b. abt 1846), Thomas Ross (b. abt 1849), Sarah Ann (b. abt 1853), Amanda (b. abt 1854), William Henry (b. abt. 1855) and George M. (b. abt. 1863). This family was located primarily in Doylestown, Bucks County. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Debbie

Not limited to cems. but the cems are clearly shown. Not all will be new... and covers all states..... The mail list is available to anyone who wants to follow.... and takes a couple of minutes to check each day. Occasionally the software/system which produces the data does not work, so like much else in life, is not 100% complete.. The search engine on the PA county ARCHIVES pages is another tool. It too does all files, but may be sorted by TIME so you can tell what was added/uploaded recently.... -- joe

I recently request a set of pension papers for Thomas Elliott and his wife Margaret. Unfortunately they are not the family I was looking for. This Thomas was in A Company, 3rd Reg, Pa. Vol. Cav. Per the pension papers, Thomas Elliott d Jan 22, 1914 and his wife, Margaret, died Apr 25, 1914. If this is your Thomas and Margaret, and would like these papers, please reply to me privately and I will send them along. Kia ora from New Zealand I need some local knowledge to help me locate (hopefully) the birth records of my great aunts Alice (b 1871) and Mary (b 1874) McLAUGHLIN both supposedly born in Pennsylvania. I have a possible "sighting" of their parents James and Margaret Ann (Maggie/Mary) McLAUGHLIN/McLOUGHLIN on the 1870 census in Bellevue Borough, Allegheny County so I thought I would start there. I see that Vital Records in that county are available from 1870 to 1905 and wonder if there is some sort of index available. Or I should just try my luck with the dates I have. Also there seems to be a requirement that the person requesting the certificates is an immediate family member. Does this still apply for Genealogical enquiries where the person is clearly deceased? Neither of these women have any living direct descendants. I would really appreciate some help on this one as this is the first time I have looked for records in the US Many thanks Catherine Auckland, New Zealand
