    3. hi, and thanks for responding. my parents were divorced when i was very little, so i don't have any birth certificates from my dad. my mom is trying to reach someone who might know where dad was born. i did want to point out that you might be spelling mcelhatten wrong in the county database. try it with "en" instead of "an". my mom said that my grandmother's maiden name might not have been leah chapman, but rather leah orson. that adds another kink to things. mom also said she thought that john wolfe, my grandfather, might have been married to a woman named "hoover". am waiting for her to get back to me on dad's birthplace and grandma's dad's name. roxanne Elizhlists@aol.com wrote: Where was your father born? I am checking the census and the only likely suspect is in Washington, Schuylkill, PA but this isn't he. I finally gave up and tried Wolfe in Clinton Co [I couldn't find McElhattan in the county database only Lock Haven] and that got me nothing that screamed YES! Do you have his birth Cert? if you know Leahs fathers name I can try Dad in the 1910 and 1920 and maybe find a Wolfe near by. On the other hand if near Lock Haven could have been a student at the college. Eliz --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - 100MB free storage!

From what I have been able to gather, most all of the other surnames I am researching of our families were from the Centre, Clinton, Clearfield, Lycoming counties. 3. Hello; I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I'm looking for information on a John Wolfe from McElhatten, PA. He would have been my paternal grandfather, probably having been born in the early 1900's. His son, my father, Ray Gordon Wolfe, was born September 23, 1925. I know that my father's mother, Leah Chapman (?) never married John Wolfe, and I don't think that my Dad ever knew his Dad. Leah was born in 1906, so I'm assuming that they were close to the same age. My father had other siblings, but they were not of the same father. I don't know if John Wolfe ever had any other children, nor do I know if he stayed in PA, or moved on. Roxanne Baird --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
