    3. Hi Debra, Thank you so much for your reply , yes that is the family mentioned on the IGI . I am still none the wiser about this family but do now know that they did in fact go to the states . Why they are listed on the UK IGI is strange as is the mention ofGloucester , England. I see nothing showing as to where the family were born on the US1870 census. Thank you so much also for your offer of a look up for my ALTHOFF family. As we have just shifted house my records are in a bit of a muddle so will get back to you in a few days. I suspect a senior male member arrived in the States earlier than 1893 . I am the only person researching this family in the UK and have extracted all records from 1837 -1900 . The fact grgrandfather married 3 times caused me a lot of angst as 2 wives were Hannah's -:)) so many children died I am really surprised that any of the family survived at all. Kind regards Shirley BROWN NZ k

    1. Re: [PA] updating info request/ WOLFE/ CHAPMAN
    2. Here are a couple of Samuel Chapman's for you. They were the only two listed in the SSDI. There was no Lottie of the correct age, which probably only means that she died before 1963, and isn't on the computerized list. You might want to examine the applications for the earlier names I sent before you spend money on these. Susan in Louisiana Name: Samuel Chapman SSN: 180-32-6924 Last Residence: 19012 Cheltenham, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, United States of America Born: 10 Jan 1883 Died: Dec 1968 State (Year) SSN issued: Pennsylvania (1956-1958 ) Name: Samuel Chapman SSN: 167-05-1324 Last Residence: Pennsylvania Born: 28 Jan 1890 Died: Nov 1965 State (Year) SSN issued: Pennsylvania (Before 1951 )

    2. Here is the SSDI information on the only Ray G. Wolfe that showed up in the search: Name: Ray G. Wolfe SSN: 210-16-3925 Born: 23 Sep 1925 Died: 13 Oct 1990 State (Year) SSN issued: Pennsylvania (Before 1951 ) Perhaps you should request copies of the applications your father and grandmother completed in order to get their SS numbers. These have a good deal of information on them. Susan in Louisiana

    3. I'm trying to find info on my father's parents and ancestry. My father was Ray Gordon Wolfe, born 23 Sep 1925. His mother was Leah Chapman, born 17 May 1908. My father's father was a John Wolfe, of whom I have no information. My dad's parents never married, however Leah Chapman was married to Raymond Croak in 1928. Croak was born in Philadelphia. I was always told that John Wolfe was from McElhatten, PA. I don't know where Leah Chapman was born, but i was able to find that her parents' names were Samuel Chapman and Lottie M. Hoover. No dates or locations on them either. I'm wondering if it's possible that, since Ray Croak was from Philadelphia, maybe the rest of them were as well. There are no living relatives that I have contact with that might have this information. Ray Wolfe, Leah Chapman Croak Packer, and Ray Croak all died in the Lock Haven, PA area. Does anyone know where I might find this info, or have access to databases where it might be contained? Roxanne Baird --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! 2. John Brown
    3. I have a 1776 UK marriage for a Johann (John ) ALTHOFF and Susannah HOFLER . I have extracted all ALTHOFF entries from the British GRO records 1837 to 1900 and have most familes sorted . But there are 5 children of David ALTHOFF and Ann M SLAGGLE born 1861 - 1871 listed on the UK IGI who do not appear on the GRO records . The entries show Hanover, Pennysylvania , Gloucester , England , anyone recognise this family ?? They seem to have been submitted by an LDS member . There are also earlier GRO records for ALTHOFF families in Durham England mid -late 1700's. I am hoping parents and sibblings of my Johann. I have one family who arrived at Ellis Is. 1893 but don't know where they dis appeared. Look forward to hearing from ALTHOFF researchers. other . Shirley BROWN Auckland New Zealand

Do I write another email to you when I do such, using the "same Subject" and writing in the body of said email, -- my "old" email address to my "new" email address??? I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter, thank you kindly, Shirley --- Hi, Shirley- Not a bad time for a reminder to all as to how to change your subscribed email address on this list should you need to do so: Before your OLD/current address goes bad, send a new email (not a reply to any previous message) FROM the OLD address to: PENNSYLVANIA-L-request@rootsweb.com if you are subbed in list mode and PENNSYLVANIA-D-request@rootsweb.com if you are subbed in Digest mode. Put only the word UNSUBSRIBE in the subject and the message body. Then send a second NEW email to the same address above FROM the NEW email account with only the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject and message body. In the event that the old email address becomes unusable before you have a chance to unsub it--just drop a note to: PENNSYLVANIA-admin@rootsweb.com and be sure to give the OLD address that needs to be unsubbed so that we can take care of it for you.
