If you have further information on any of these folks, I'd sure like to correspond with you. I'll be glad to share my other data with you. I'm especially interested in learning the parents and siblings of Jacob's father, John Martin, and of Jacob's mother, Susanna (Ourie/Urey). John Martin was born about 1774 in "Little York" county, PA. He died about 1847, probably in Licking Co., OH. Susanna was born about 1777, possibly in PA and died about 1818 in PA or OH. John Martin remarried to Margaret Messencope on 11 Feb 1819 in Belmont Co., OH. SAMUEL MARTIN was born on 1 Apr 1799. He was the son of John and Susanna (Ourie/Urey) Martin. John was born about 1774 in "Little" York Co., PA and died about 1847, probably in Licking Co., OH. Susanna was born about 1777, probably in PA and died about 1818 in PA or OH. John Martin remarried to Margaret Messencope on 11 Feb 1819 in Belmont Co., OH. Samuel was baptized on 30 Aug 1800 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran, York, York Co., PA. He married Susannah Worley, daughter of Thomas M. and and Mary (Walker) Worley , on 15 Aug 1822 at Harrison Co., OH. Sam died on 5 Feb 1873 at Cadiz Twp., Harrison Co., OH, at age 73. He was buried about 7 Feb 1873 at Cadiz Union Cemetery, Cadiz Twp., Harrison Co., OH. Samuel Martin was recorded in the census in 1830 at Athens Twp., Harrison Co., OH; again in the census in 1840 at Short Creek Twp., Harrison Co., OH and in the census on 13 Aug 1850 at Cadiz, Harrison Co., OH. Alo in Cadiz Twp. at this time was the family of Arthur and Margaret (URIE) Martin who had migrated from Lancaster Co., PA. Samuel and Susannah Martin released to Sam's half-brother, Benjamin Martin, their "...title, interest and estate..." in the estate of Sam's father, John Martin. Samuel is listed in the final settlement of John Martin's estate, 3 July 1858 and other proceedings beginning July, 1853. These are recorded in the Partition records, Vol. D, pages 354-361; Vol F; and other volumes of the Licking Co. OH Clerk of Court, Courthouse, Newark, OH. Samuel Martin was recorded in the census on 1 Jun 1860 and 4 Jun 1870 at Cadiz Twp., Cadiz Town, Harrison Co., OH. On 5 Feb 1873, a Samuel Martin died in Cadiz Twp., Harrison Co., OH at 73 years of age. He was buried in Cadiz Union Cemetery. Karen, Peggy, I have some census but it is helpfu;l to see what others have come up with. I am trying to figure out what family Sarah may have come from. There are no clues forthcoming as far as names that may have been siblings in the Stenninger family. At least none that have jumped out at me. I was hoping maybe I could find where there was a brewery owned by the family originally. Mom said there was actually a beer named after the surname but Since I don't know the actual spelling of the family I have not come up with that either. Any beer aficionados on the list? Sarah married Peter Nick who I have very little on either. Family lore says he stowed away on a ship from Germany. Our line had a story about a fight and perhaps a n accidental death. While researching I came across a note a researcher had made on Peter that said their line was told he was caught poaching on Keiser Wilhelms property and stowed away. Whether or not any of this is true we have no clue. But obviously some kind of mystery on how he came to US. Thanks for the help with the census. Kassie

If you have further information on any of these folks, I'd sure like to correspond with you. I'll be glad to share other data with you. I'm especially interested in learning the parents and other children of Susanna MARTIN's father, John MARTIN, as well as the parents and other children of her mother, Susanna OURIE/UREY. SUSANNA MARTIN was born on 3 Mar 1804 at PA. Her common name was Susan Martin. She was the daughter of John and Susanna (Ourie/Urey) Martin. Susanna married Thomas S. Dillehay, son of Benjamin1778 Dillehay and Rachel Slater, on 1 Feb 1827 at Guernsey Co., OH. They continued to live in Guernsey Co. through the 1830-1850 censuses. Susannah, her sisters Rachel and Angeline [Anne] were all listed as living in Guernsey Co., OH on 3 July 1858 [in the estate settlement of their father John Martin, Licking Co., OH]. Susannah is listed in final settlement of John Martin's estate, 3 July 1858 and other proceedings beginning July, 1853. These are recorded in the Partition records, Vol. D, pages 354-361; Vol F; and other volumes of the Licking Co. OH Clerk of Court, Courthouse, Newark, OH. After the erection of Noble Co. in 1851 she and husband Thomas appeared on the census of 22 Jun 1860 at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio. and remained there through the census of 1870. Susanna died on 29 Jun 1874 at Enoch Twp, Noble, Ohio, at age 70. She was buried 31 June 1874 at St. Marys Fulda, Enoch Twp, Noble Co., Ohio. Children of Susanna Martin and Thomas S. Dillehay : i. Two unnamed females were born between 1827 and 1830 and appeared on the census of 1830 in the household of Thomas S. and Susanna Dillehay at Oxford Twp., Guernsey Co., OH.
