Hello Group, Am still on the trail of John Robinson and his family. This is the newspaper clipping I was given some time ago. Unfortunately no dates on it. The demise of John Robinson The funeral of the late John Robinson, of Grassy Island, was held in the M E church, yesterday afternoon, at 3 o'clock and a large congregation gathered to pay their last respects to their neighbor who passed away so suddenly on Sunday last. He was a member of Warahpa tribe, No 211. I O R M, who attended in a body and had charge of the funeral at the grave. Rev S C Simpkins preached the sermon from Jodhus 1 ,11, "prepare you victuals, for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it" Deceased was 51 years of age. He came from Nottingham, England, 17 years ago ,and leaves a widow and seven children, Thomas, William, Francis, George, Minnie, Samuel and Alice. Interment was made in Prospect cemetery. The reference to Prospect cemetery is thought to refer to Prospect Hill Cemetery in Peckville, PA. M.E. church - Methodist Episcopal. I have found the family in 1900 census at Lackawanna, Olyphant Borough (cannot see an address) showing Alice - Head - 49 Thomas - son - 26 William - son -25 Frances - Daughter - 21 George - Son - 18 Minnie - Daughter - 15 Samuel - Son - 12 Alice - Daughter - 7 Would love to make contact with any of there descendants. Good Afternoon, I'm in need of help finding my grandfather. I have tried for many years but with no luck. I plan to be passing through Pittsburgh this July. If some kind sole could give me a miracle or direct me to someone or some place that may help I will be forever great. Grandpa died 3 months before my mother was born. "Sept. 28, 1909." We know that he was several years older than Grandma and that they lied about their age on the marriage certificate. That's why the wide range in birth years. I tried sending this e-mail directly to Coleeen Coleman, but it bounced. So I am sending this to you through the Pennsylvania mailing list. Hope you receive it. Hi Coleen, At the time of the 1820 census the counties surrounding Somerset County are: Fayette (to the west) Westmoreland (to the west) Cambria (to the north) Bedford (to the east) And they have remained the same ever since. Maryland is to the south. Hope this helps. Susan Coleen Coleman wrote: What counties were around Somerset County in 1825? My James Mack married Catherine Growall 25 May 1825 but not in her home county of Somerset. Would like to find copy of marriage record. may tell me who James' parents were possibly they signed as witnesses to this marriage. Thanks

Kassie: Thanks for the age clarification, like many other situations I have found transcription errors. This is why I prefer, when possible, to view original documents and have copies of same. In the early days (1970's) when copy machines were not always available my copying (I later found) from records in the library wasn't always accurate. Certainly appreciate your efforts, if I am a bit slow in responding; please excuse as I am recovering from cataract surgery and my computer time is very limited. Surgery was 6/8.
