That is a very good question Mary. One I had not even thought of. Thank you. Where would one go to check those records for a possible birth? This family has me stumped, puzzled, befuddled, among other things. I do not have a clue as to his origins. Somerset County did not keep records of marriages until much later so hmmm. I wonder.......

Maybe you can help us read this will correctly. I have not see the actual will nor have I seen this data saying she died Nov 11 1780 does anyone have privy to this possible church rec of death Lehigh co Pa? they could supply thanks much Oh Maria Catharina Jeaky Smithers did marry Jacob Bachman after Smither died. William Smither b Abt 1710 Unk d May 1760 New Albany, Berks Co Pa +1Maria Catharina JEAKY 5 Aug 1734 Burlington, NJ. Wedding record in N. J. Archives, 1st series, Maria Catharina Schmedder died 11/11/1780 and is buried at Lowhill Church, Lehigh Co, Pa == he did not know where she was born or who her parents were, but did know remd 1764 - Marie Catharina Jeaky m2 Jacob Bachman after William Smither died In 1789 Catherine was living in Weissenberg Township which I believe is Lehigh Co which is next door to Northampton but it is also next door to Berks, Bucks, etc. I check census with no results. [Was Catherine dec'd or alive by the way this will reads?] If she was living wouldn't she be going by her married name Bachman in 1790 census? 1789 Will: [107] Bachman, Jacob senior. Weissenberg Twp., yeoman. Will executed: 30 Apr 1787; will probated 27 Oct 1789. Catherine, wife and late widow of William Schmetter of Albany Twp., Berks. Sons Paul; Jacob, Executor; Laurence; and Nicholas, Executor. Daughter Christina, Elizabeth, Susanna, Ottilia (all have issue) and Mary-Elizabeth. Jacob Bachman and Maria Catharina were married in 1764 and in that marriage record in the church books it states the late widow of Wilhelm Schmetter. Will of Jacob Bachman Sr of Weisenburg Twp dated 30 Apr 1787 Proved 17 Oct 1789 "I gave and bequeath(ed) in and by a certain article of agreement before I was intermarried with my dearly beloved wife Catharine widow and relic of William Shmetter late of Albany Twp Berks Co PA deceased the sum of 30 pounds and money for a cow" which Caharine had alreadh & was to have no more of the estate. Mary, I'm looking for information as to when and how Richard Conklin immigrated from Wales. He was born 1783. He died 1853 in Clearfield, Clearfield Co. Pa. I would appreciate a look up as to when and where he arrived in America. Thanks for a look up. Donna
Mary- I am looking for Thomas Frame and wife Mary with daughter Margaret. They came from Derry, Ireland sometime after 1783 but before 1789. They would probably have come into Philadelphia as they ended up in Chester County. Thanks for any help, Coral ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Moeller" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 22, 2006 4:50 PM Subject: [PA] immigrants > i've been watching the list and if someone needs > a name looked up as a possible immigrant i would > be happy to... from a book called EMIGRANTS TO > PENNSYLVANIA 1641-1819 from the Genealogical > Publishing Co., in Baltimore 1979 > > > > ____________________________________________________________________________________ > Yahoo!
