    1. [PA] More Pennsylvania Genealogy Data On Ancestors At Rest
    2. Hi All I have added a few more records to my site Ancestors At Rest.com. Now that the good weather has arrived in my neck of the woods I have not had as much time as usual to work on the web site. I did find a little bit of time to put a few things online that some of you may be interested in. As allways I have added more coffin plates to the data base. http://www.ancestorsatrest.com/coffin_plates/ I have also added more pages from the Haag, Kline & Co Ledger book in Bernville, Berks County Pennsylvania. If you have Berks County Pennsylvania ancestors you will want to take a peek at this ledger. http://www.ancestorsatrest.com/pennsylvania.shtml Good Luck Brian

    1. Re: [PA] Philadelphia Death Certificates 1803-1915 go online
    2. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding information for James H. Lee in Venango County, Oil City, PA area in 1800s?? I have information that he and his wife Sarah Cox are buried in a neglected cemetery which was originally their farm land (Lee Cemetery) which later became known as Mount Pleasant Cemetery.? I have information regarding his son Samuel C Lee (BD 02 Dec 1829; DD 10 May 1896)??and wife Margaret B. Campbell, if anyone could help with any information such as an obituary or historical information that might give some clues as to when James H. Lee might have been born or died.? Most information I have says he originates from Baltimore, Maryland and then migrated to Ohio, then to Pensylvania.? Any help or clues you can provide would be most appreciated - I am wanting to go one generation further.? Without any of this information I am at a brick wall.? I have no idea who James H. Lee's father is and am trying to find out. -----Original Message----- From: Marie Van Laeys <njtransplant@cox.net> To: pennsylvania@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, 9 May 2008 7:17 pm Subject: Re: [PA] Philadelphia Death Certificates 1803-1915 go online genealogybank.com is a pay site by month/or year. 1. [PA] Fw: George Andrews 1681 and onward?
    2. Robin Andrews
    3. Please see transcript of letters regarding land at Naamans Creek and also a city lott in Philadelphia from William Penn. I was hoping someone would be able to throw some light on events. Cyndie Enflinger has yet to publish other items which are to be added on the subject of this distant relation of ours whose birthdate is unknown and whose date and place of death is also unknown (to us). Evidence of his presence in Chester County/Pennsylvania is, as yet, undiscovered. I found reference to tax being paid on 5 horses etc. by someone with this name but was not sure of the authenticity. He managed to have 2 wives - the first called Elizabeth and the second 'Mary'. I don't think any of the 8 children were born in PA as their births are registered in Wiltshire, England. If anyone has information relating to George Andrews we, on this side of the 'pond', would be pleased to hear about it. 1. [PA] Pennsylvania Synagogues: Photography & History E-Book
    2. Julian H. Preisler
    3. Dear List Members: I want to let all of you know of an E-Book I recently published featuring over 3200 original larger color photographs of 1410 individual US synagogue buildings. The E-Book features synagogue photographs from all 50 States and Washington, DC and also contains basic historical data on each congregation featured. The Pennsylvania section is the largest featuring 474 original nice sized photos of 198 individual Pennsylvania synagogue buildings. Many of these synagogue buildings are located in small towns and isolated communities and many are no longer used for Jewish worship. This cd-rom is Volume One of a planned two volume series. Many people have found this resource helpful when looking for photographs of synagogues with family connections, etc. Anyone interested in Pennsylvania Jewish history, American Jewish history or synagogue architecture and design will find it to be a valuable resource. All the details and ordering information can be found on my website: www.AmericanSynagogueArchitecture.com There are 3 sample pages from the E-Book on the website so you can see how the pages look and the information that is provided. If any of you are interested, please have a look at my website. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time and interest. Best Regards, Mr. Julian H. 3. Hi Marcy, PA never did a state census. However they did an enumeration of tax payers every 7 years from 1779 to 1863 called Septennial Census. Only a small number of them survived and are at the state archives. Sue M wrote: >Good Evening, Jennifer, > > The family was William (1873) and Edna Alice (1890)(PEACOCK) BOWERS. 3. Good Evening, Jennifer, The family was William (1873) and Edna Alice (1890)(PEACOCK) BOWERS. They were from Evans, NY... at least William was. They were said to have married and had Wilford (1909), Leland(1911), Ethel(1914), Edward(1916), and Harold(1919) in the viilage of Russell Pennsylvania (near Warren) in Warren County. When the youngest turned 4 (around 1925) they moved back to NY. Not sure why they moved to PA... jobs, family... but I am trying to document them actually being there. Was there ever a state census for that time period? Thank you, Marcy From: Jennifer <jhl1188@optonline.net> Date: 2008/04/27 Sun AM 10:11:55 CDT To: M <angelize13@verizon.net>, PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PA-CENSUS-LOOKUP] State Census 1909-1919?
