LUCAS GEE WILL 25 OCTOBER 1817 LUNENBURG COUNTY, VIRGINIA Will Book 8, p. 75 I LUCAS GEE of the County of Lunenburg and state of Virginia do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and format -----that is to say 1st I leave the whole of my estate both legal and personal & perishable(?) to be kept together by my wife for the benefit of my children during her life or widowhood if either of my children leave my wife and not be as one of her family working for the benefit of the whole they shall not have any part of the -----so long as they remain so but if either of my children should need any part of my estate after they go from the family and are of age they may have a part of my estate such part as my wife may think proper but not more than their proper proportionable part according to the act of this state directing the distribution of interstates estate and if my wife dies my widow my wish is that the whole of my estate be equally divided between my children and their representatives and they that have received any part before her death except the profits arising that is assumed(?) in the family for support and education shall be accountable to the estate for the same. My wife if she marries is to have an equal third part of the whole of my estate during her life and at her death her third to be equally divided between my children or their representatives and when she marries my wish is that two thirds of my estate be equally divided and they each accountable as before.) between my children or their representatives 2nd my will and desire is that there be no inventory nor appraisment of my estate 3rd & lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my brother JONES GEE and my sons SACK P. GEE and WILLIAM L. GEE Executors of this my last will and testament by me heretofore made- In witness whereof I have been herewith set my hand and affixed my seal this 25 day of October 1817.
