Recently I got a letter from a lady researching a family from Clearfield and Center Co. PA. She says the surname is Bennington, but this is not Bennington country. However, I do find Penningtons in Clearfield. I'll be doing some more research as the family is quite sketchy so far. Does anyone recognize this family? [email protected] Catherine Bennington (Pennington?) b. 28 Dec 1837 Center Co. PA, d. 20 Jul 1911, buried Rose Hill Cemetery, Dixon Co. NE. She married Adam MCPHERRAN, b. 20 Jan 1832 in Huntindon Co. PA, died 16 Dec 1891 (?). They had: Susannah, Robert, Stewart A., Mary Katerine, Nora, Rebecca, Hannah Molly, George Raymond and Adams. George Raymond was born in 1867 in Iowa or Indiana. The family moved to Nebraska about 1870. I found them on the 1860 census of Chest Twp., Clearfield Co. PA. Found several of the children in 1900 in Nebraska. I checked every line of Dakota and Dixon Co. NE for 1880 to no avail. Adams was on the 1890 special veterans census in Dixon Co. NE.
