    3. Dear Mel, Thank you very much for the info in your e-mail 8 Dec. 1999. It fills several holes in my Group 10 Pennington line. There was a large Mathews family in Brunswick County, VA. who we thought were related to my Matthews family in Surry County, VA. Never knew how it came to be. My gr,gr grandparents were Phillip Pennington, ca 1755-1803 and Patty (Floyd) ca 1760-1797 of Mecklenburg County, VA. Both Patty and Phillip were deceased by 1803, as were all their parents. So there was no one close by to relate the family history to Phillip's 6 children. 1. Lt. Drury Pennington, married (1) 1809 Mary Quarles (PP1-4, pg. 20), (2) 1823 Nancy Conner and (3) 1833 to Mary Oslin. After Phillip's estate was closed in 1811, Drury and his oldest sister, Mary, moved to Gibson and Maury County, Tenn. 2. Mary (Pennington) Westmoreland ca 1789- 3. James Pennington, ca 1790- 4, Frances (Pennington) Lett, ca 1791 5. Benjamin Pennington, ca 1792-1834 6. Peggy (Pennington) Hubbard, ca 1793-1835, married Capt. Ralph Hubbard of Mecklenburg County, VA. in 1814. Anything you can add to this data will be greatly appreciated. May I have your permission to publish your 8 Dec. 1999 posting in our Pennington publication? It may bring forth more information. Please send me an e-mail saying so. Thanks, Al Matthews [email protected]
