Echo JULY 19, 1901 LESLIE COUNTY There was a double killing Saturday night about eight miles from here at a dance highly flavored with bourbon whisky. Finley Cornett, son of James Cornett, and Elhannan Pennington's son Alex were killed. Jonathan Pennington is now in jail charged with the killing of Cornett and further trouble is expected, as both sides are of large families and excitement is high.
