I went to Surry County courthouse this morning. Wanted to look over the records you all have been writing about. The elected Clerk of court is retiring this year. He was defeated after 30 years in office. That want change the records, but the new person will not be able to help as in the past. I had a chance to compare key information of published data,ie, Weynette P. Haun,Eliza Timberlake Davis and William L. Hopkins to the actual record. They have done good work. The originals are in good shape. But you cannot photograph them in any way. Lights will fade them more. Use microfilm. >From a friend there I picked up these tidbits. Peddington, Thomas mar.
