Claudine, This is in response to your Dec. 27 query re John Pennington and his wife Nancy Harris. I see that Jeanne Thomas answered your question of the dates of their birth and death. I might note that Jeanne is the daughter of Jim Perkins who spent many years researching the Group V Penningtons and deserves much credit for his contribution. Johns father was Revered Charles Pennington who covered a lot of territory as a Baptist Preacher. My wife and I started with Jim Perkins research and followed Rev. Charles through his travels starting in Grayson Co. VA, to Russell Co. VA, through the seventeen years that he spent in White Co. TN. We are from White County and live fairly close to there so can spent quite a bit of time there. John and Nancy are buried in a family cemetery on the White Co./Putnam County line, most likely on the property they owned. The cemetery is on a knoll, encompasses about one and one-half acres, and is fenced and well kept. We have photos that clearly show the dates of birth and death. His son Charles is also buried there. We would be delighted to share information with you. What is your linage to John and Nancy. We have been trying to gather information on all of their children.
