Al, Thanks for replying. First off, I don't know if Im related to Gertrude Green!! I can only trace my Greens to my 4th grgrandfather, John Green of NC, he died in TN, and his descendants moved on to MO, where they have been ever since. Secondly, I have been in contact with a researcher in Sussex Co, who has researched the Pennington family. I went to Sussex to see a distant cousin of mine, MOSS family, this researcher has done most of the research for my cousin. My cousin is descended from JOSHUA MOSS m. SARAH PENNINGTON. Joshua's father was Henry MOSS, and Henry's father was JOHN MOSS (d.1765) m. MARY??? This researcher told me that MARY's (d. 1775) maiden name was Pennington, and that she was the daughter of John Pennington, and Mary Pare. Well I went over and spent 3hrs with her and we worked and worked on the problem, and she couldnt find where she had gotten the info that Mary's maiden name was PENNINGTON. She is 85 yrs old, and is one sharp lady! But she couldnt remember where she found it. She conceded that she may be wrong! So I came to the conclusion that MARY's name is still ??!! It could be Pennington, and it might not be! But we figured out dates and John Pennington and Mary Pare were too late to be the parents of Mary ?? that married JOHN MOSS. But it could be another Pennington girl. We found one born in 1736, but that would make her only make her 39 when she died, and she quite a good number of children, its not entirely impossible, but heck, I dont know!!! Justin
