I saw your Pennington posting about William, you 5th greatgrandfather. My husband's greatGrandfather was William Pennington b. 1801 in NC or VA., family later moved to KY...then he shows up on the 1860 census in Coweta Co., GA married in 1855 to Mary Ann Dodds. I have to believe he had an earlier family, perhaps in KY. Do you see a possible connection? When was your William born. Family tradition has it that his father may have been named William.
