My great grandmother was Rachael PENNINGTON, probably the daughter of A.J. and Nancy PENNINGTON, who were noted in the 1850 census for Izard County, Arkansas. A.J. PENNINGTON later moved to Clark County, Arkansas. While in Izard County, they were neighbors of A.J. GEORGE, probably my g-great grandfather. The GEORGE family was from Haywood County, Tennessee, and earlier from Lincoln County, Tennessee. I also noted the following information on PENNINGTONs in Haywood County, Tennessee. Brownsville Tax Lists 1845, District 1 Harmon PENNINGTON 1846, District 1 James PENNINGTON 1848, District 1, Harmon, James, and Samuel PENNINGTON 1849, District 1, James PENNINGTON Relationship unknown.
