We SW Kansas Penningtons descend from one ANDREW JACKSON PENNINGTON, b. 1824 in Clay Co. KY; d. 1900 in Howard Co. IN; m. 1843 to MARY POLLY AVERY. Was a Union officer and POW who escaped from Libby Prison in Richmond, VA. His children include Solomon Andrew, Elijah Winfield, William J. and Isaac Newton Pennington.
