I am new to this Pennington list and to my Pennington research. I am trying to fill out the National Archives order for copies of records on Lt. John Pennington and am finding out that I know very little abt him, at least for what I need to fill out these forms. 1st: I can only check one box. so which one would be the best to get the most genealogical information?: a. Pension b. bounty-land warrant app. c. military 2. I have a book written by : Dr. Charles Vantuyl of Porter, OK, that states that Jane Pennington born 29 July 1817 in Plainfield, Somerset Co. N.J. and died: 22 Mar. 1901. was a daughter of William Pennington who was b. 2 Aug. 1793 and Ann Brown. Wm. and Ann were married 13 Sept 1813. Jane was also a granddaughter of Lt. John Pennington (1715-1783) who served in the Revolutionary War. I also have a copy of a letter written by Clara B. Speiser (sp? hard to read) written in 197 9 to Dr. Charles Vantuyl. she list alot of Pennington genealogy history and in it she states that John Pennington was a Lt. in Revolutionary War. and gives his birth and death dates. she says that he married Ann Brown 13 Sept 1815 and that their children were: Jane Pennington , John Pennington B. 16 Oct. 1829 N.J., Died 1 Aug 1909, Married Matilda Coon. Ann V; James; William, Jonathan, Sara Jane, Arthur and Otto twins, Mary Adelin, Emma, Julia Matilda Does any one have any information on this family? Especially Lt. John Pennington? I need to know what state he served from, and any thing else that might prove to be helpful in this search. Thanks again, for any and all help. Geanellen:gkuranko@sprynet.com
