Mrs. Ethel Virginia Pennington, 55, of Bayard, died Tuesday, June 2 in Grant Memorial Hospital. Born in Scherr, she was daughter of the late George Hanlin and Cora (Secrist) Hanlin. She was associated with the Brethren Church. Surviving are her husband, Terry William Pennington, Sr.; four sons, Melvin Pennington and Terry Pennington, Jr, both of Bayard, Dale Pennington, Gormania, and George Pennington, Hutton, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Beckman, Oakland, Md., Mrs. Nina Whitehair, Horse Shoe Run, and Mrs. Alice Dunithan, Bayard; three sisters, Mrs. Violet Jackson of Ohio, Mrs. Lucy Lemon, Elk Garden, Mrs. Twila Shillingburg, Mt. Storm; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis with the Rev. Galen Fike officiating.
