Tammy, Our Thomas Pennington was a member of a gang in NC. He married and came south some of the group went west. He and Leatha Beall married in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC in 1796. My sister married into the Carter, Bland families of VA and traced her husbands line to the Carter who settled in VA. She had a book that I read this summer that mentioned a Pennington woman . I can get her to look it up if you like. I am a member of the Pennington Reasearch Assn. are you and have they located your ancestor? A William signed as surety for Thomas at that place. As you probably the Carters are big in the state of VA.
