    1. [PENNINGTON-L] ARCHIBALD THOMPSON DIARY, NEW TRANSCRIPT BY LULA HANKINS HUNTER
    2. Jemima Gee Morse
    3. Lula Hankins Hunter, Hawaii, has recently completed a new transcript of the Archibald Thompson Diary, which is posted at Doug Moore's web site http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore/archibald/ Found by Barbara Thompson Saltou in the early 1980s when she and her father visited Monroe County, Ky., the diary documents the life and times of many families in Virginia and Kentucky in the 1700-1800s. Lula's ancestral homeland is Tazewell Co., Va., and she has spent many years researching her and allied families in the New River Valley, including Montgomery Co., Va. She has deciphered many new names, dates, and events, as well as military, trade and travel entries from a new photocopy of the diary. Archibald wrote "Farewell to Sweet Ireland Wherein I Was Bred." However, we've been unable to find when the family emigrated or where they disembarked in America. The files are in text format and can be easily downloaded. As Elisabeth "Betsy" Pennington is my ggg-grandmother, I am pasting below some of the Pennington entries from the index to the diary.
