Dimmon Pennington was son of Welcome Pennington and Mahala Moore, according to Doug Moore http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore/gendex/d0001/g0000032.html#I0568 5 "Mahala is the daughter of Garrett Moore and Agnes Denton. Garrett Moore came to northern Jackson (Clay) county around 1800-1810 and settled in the Brimstone Creek-Moss area. His Mahala was born in 1819 and married Welcome Pennington perhaps around 1840. They lived in the Moss area and are buried in a Pennington Cemetery in Clay Co near Boles, Monroe Co., KY." Another Sims-Pennington connection in the Monroe Co., Ky., area is that of the sisters, Anna and Rebecca Sims, daus. of William and Sarah Jane Hall, who married John Bugg Gee, Sr., and James Pennington Gee, sons of James Gee and Lucy Bugg (Lucy Pennington, William, Thomas).
