While searching for clues on the burial place for my g-g-grandfather, Andrew Jackson Monroe Pennington, b. 30 Aug 1824, d. 11 Feb. 1863., I found a web site that does have several Pennington names (but not the one I am searching for). The site is titled "23RD ARKANSAS INFANTRY REGIMENT CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA" and can be found at: http://www.insolwwb.net/~egerdes/23rdindx.htm . In another index, there is reference to Arkansas 23 Infantry Regiment (Pennington's Co. H). In checking Co. H in found many references to A.A. Pennington who was involved in the recruitment and/or signing the members. Some of the Pennington names found in Co. H are: Pennington, George W. Cpl. Pennington, Isaac R. Sgt. with a note that one Mary Pennington filed a claim on 25 April 1863. I hope this provides a clue for other researchers.
