John Pennington was born in Belfast, Ireland on May 16, 1819. In 1850 he married Maria McKay presumably in Delaware. Maria was born in October 1830 in Edinburgh, Scotland. John and Mary travelled from Delaware to California, with a stop in Illinois for a time. John died on April 18, 1899. Marie died in 1913. Both are buried in the San Luis Obispo Cemetery in San Luis Obispo, California (I have seen their graves). Their children: 1. Jane Ann, b. Dec 13, 1850 (Dover, DE), d. 1931 (Los Angeles, CA) 2. She married Horatio Southgate Rembaugh (Rumbaugh) on May 17, 1872 in San Luis Obispo, California. Horatio was born on August 3, 1840 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Horatio died on February 12, 1917 in Alameda, California and is buried in Oakland, CA. Jane died in 1931 in Los Angeles and is buried next to her parents in San Luis Obispo. Their children: 1. Joe was born on March 30, 1892 in Cauther Crooks, Scotland. Joe and Barbara divorced on September 11, 1950. Barbara married a second time to Leslie Oris Meredith on September 11, 1950 in Reno, Nevada. Leslie was born on May 7, 1902 in Akron, Indiana. Joe died in September 1987 in Oceanside, California. Leslie died on June 3, 1992 in Santa Barbara, California. Barbara is still living in Santa Rosa, California. Joe & Barbara's children: 1. Barbara Jean, b.
