With Every Sympathy, Family Group Six Pennington Research Association Bobby E. Pennington On-Line Group Leader ----- Walter Columbus Pennington, 94, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2000. Son of Jasper Green Pennington & Elizabeth "Bettie" Elmira Gunnels, he was born in Campbell, Dunklin County, Missouri, and moved to Michigan in the early 1920s. Both of his grandfathers served in the Civil War and were descendants of early pioneers in the Carolinas, Alabama and Missouri. He was married to Hazel Sutton Moshier of Clio, Michigan in 1929. He leaves five children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also a sister, Edythe Pennington Pagel; a brother, Chester Monroe Pennington; a nephew, William Henry Pennington; and one niece, Louise Crawford. The Burial Office will be read by his son, the Reverend Jasper Green Pennington of Ypsilanti, at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 21, 2000, at the Whipple-O'Guinn Chapel, 503 North Mill Street, Clio, Michigan 48420. Burial will take place in the family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. -----
