    3. Dear Audrey and List, This is certainly one of the things that needs to be spelled out...I wouldn't be surprised if the Joseph, Abel, Larken, and Levi in the 1820 census are brothers as well as Ephraim. I don't live in that area...but if anyone is in the area of Ashe County and can look up a will, land deed, or other document...we might be able to figure out if they are all related. I am fairly sure that they are...the only child that I am relatively sure about...and I have no proof is Levi b. 1794, son of Levi b. 1767. Levi (Jr) has a son named Larken...in fact look below for a list of Levi's children...I suspect that there is a document somewhere that will link Levi Pennington, son of Micajah, with Levi, son of Levi. It should list the rest of Levi Sr.'s children as well. It might clear up some problems with the other PRA groups in the region of Ashe County, NC. I know that Levi was granted land...if we could somehow trace his land that might be of some help. Perhaps someone more experienced with these types of documents might be able to help...But I think that the info could help a whole lot of Pennington Researchers...Please let me know what you think...A note about Levi, Jr's children below...there are problems with two of them as far as proof of their relationship to Levi, Jr....Elijah "Coon" Pennington and Elisha "Dock" Pennington...if anyone has something to add to this info...please let me know. Most of it comes from Mary Almaroad.
