Please send any replies to: [email protected] Hi, Noticed your response to a PENNINGTON query in the VA-SOUTHSIDE rootsweb list. Some time ago I had a question on the surname in North Carolina. I booted up the PRA site and queried a Bobby Pennington in "Group 6". He replied promptly but there was nothing in his data that addressed my questions, and he advised me to try the contact person for "Group 10"--I believe his name was Steve. I wrote Steve but he never replied. Below is the text of my query at that time; I'd be grateful for any help you might be able to provide. Regards, John Ottinger > > I'm investigating a central North Carolina family in the early 1800s > named SHANKLE; specifically the descendants, ancestry, etc., of a George > SHANKLE (1754-1841), a Revolutionary War Veteran and Methodist minister. > > Two of George's sons married Penningtons in Montgomery County: Eli > married Lectena, 5 Jun 1834; and Henry married Scelena, 11 Dec 1834.
