We are tracking Isaac Pennington born between 1740 and 1750 backwards from Surry Co. NC in 1833 to Patrick Co. VA to Stokes Co. NC to Henry Co. VA in the 1780's. At this place in time it appears that he may be Isaac the son of Levi who begins in Rowan Co. NC. Levi, who begins in Rowan Co.NC ca 1757, has a son, Isaac, who is with him a number of years and then he disappears. We think possibly that the Isaac in Henry Co. VA--claimed by researchers from two different groups (Surry Co. NC and Rowan Co. NC)--is really the same person. This is the theory that we are trying to document at present. This Isaac does not have any connection with either SC or PA in his time frame to this point. We are strictly working in South Side VA and NC from 1757 to 1833 on Levi and Isaac only in hopes of proving a connection of father and son. Eleanor Audrey E. Audrey, Your info said that Levi just appeared in Rowan Co., NC. This is the same situation we are in. It is that our Thomas Pennington b. abt. 1760 Grp # 29, just was there and married Leatha Beall in 1796. A William Pennington signed as surety, we have that record but have no record of his being in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC. There is a Thomas Pennington on a tax record and another Pennington in Wilkes. Could these be brothers and where were they before? We are stalled there maybe both working on these can find something.
