    1. [Pennington-L] Obtaining information from PRA database
    2. Dear Jennifer, I cannot speak for others and things may have changed at PRA, but I was a member for almost 8 years and was not allowed access to the John French Master File until I volunteered to be a Group Leader. I was then allowed to see the material that I had personally submitted years before. I found some personal material that was not supposed to have been there and spent several months trying to get PRA to delete this material from all files in their possession and even offered to send them new, more accurate information on Group 32's Wells Pennington. I was promised that the personal material would remain confidential. Part of this personal data was information on living persons as well as sad anecdotes my mother shared with me before her death. The names of the living persons were burned onto a Test CD. I believe I was told it was on 34 CD's. Then I was told my mom's personal anecdotes would be removed from the JFMF. The nice man who handled that did remove them but he did not know that there were several other copies in the hands of PRA Board members. Stessed to the max and quite ill, I gave up. I sincerely hope that anyone who reads these little bits of my mother's heartache, will enjoy the experience. That said, if your line is from Wells Pennington who lived at age 18 or 21 in Ashe Co.NC (1800) and later moved on to Whitley, Pulaski, and Wayne Cos. KY, I will share directly with you, any data I have. To my best knowledge, I have the most extensive database on Wells Pennington's line. Wells Pennington died sometime after 1860, and his last known residence was in Pulaski County, KY. I have some, but limited, information on Group 12's Samuel Pennington. If anyone thinks they might be of these lines, let me know. Barb T
