Does anyone know of George Pennington in Lunenburg Co VA in 1765. I find a reference to his property along with the property of William Wright in a description of property for Thompson Wells. However I don't show a George Pennington connected to other Penningtons I have in Lunenburg Co., VA Steve P

Hi, Philip Pennington married Patty Floyd in 1787 in Mecklenburg Co., VA. Who were Patty's parents? There was a Charles Floyd of Brunswick Co., VA., whose 1795 will mentioned his daughter "Patsey Pennington." Is this the same person? Need parents of Patty Floyd, who m. Philip Pennington in 1787. If Patty is not Patsey, who was Patsey's husband? Thanks, Sue

Sue, Based on "Nottingham, Stratton. Marriage License Bonds of Mecklenburg County, Virginia from 1765 to 1810. Onancock, VA: Stratton Nottingham, 1928" and the will of Charles, I have assumed the Patsey was indeed Patty as you indicate. And when looking further, the only Penningtons I find in the area of the appropriate generation are Joel (1744-?) Robert (1748-1818), Sack (1749-?), Timothy (1753-?), John (1744-?) and a David (1760-?) who I don't have spouses for. While I can't say it's absolute, and there is room for evidence to the contrary, I do believe Patsey is the the same Patty that was the first wife of Phillip.
