I recently found what I believe is a marriage certificate from Story County Iowa for my great great grandmother, Jane Pennington, born c. May 15, 1829, 30 or so in Ohio. Jane was listed as 18 years old and was living in the household of Mary Claney and Elijah Platt in Randolph county, Indiana at the time of the 1850 census. Mary Claney died about 1853 and Jane then married Elijah and survived him to marry three more times, the last to a Benjamin Hollingsworth. In the Hollingsworth certificate, her parents are listed as James Pennington and Charity Williams, both of Ohio. She died in 1907 and is buried in Iowa. Anyone out there have any information regarding James/Charity?
