Hi, Meade County, KY is right across the Ohio River from Crawford County, Indiana. Crawford is next to Harrison County, Indiana. There were definitely Pennington's in Harrison and Crawford Cos. I think that may be PRA's Group 10. Barb T
Hi Steve, I found out that my GrGrGrandfathers wife Carrie Angeline Brown was b. in Meade Co. Ind in 1821. Her husband was Charles George or George Charles Pennington. Any connections that you can think of? Pat, I don't find a Meade Co Indiana when I look at USGS Mapping. There are 3 Meades listed in the state, a cemetery in Gibson Co., a canal in Jasper Co., and an airport in Warren Co. Help me find Meade or double check your county info, and hopefully we can find some info. Hi All. I have a cousin that lives in Oklahoma and she has been helping me with my genealogy there. She just E-mailed me that she went to a cemetery Cowlington it is about 15 or 20 miles from Spiro where I grew up. She said that there was 4 Penningtons there. They are L. E. Pennington born August 18, 1868, D. January 24.1905. Betty J. Pennington b, February 22, 1873, D. March 14, 1911. M.E. Pennington B 1857, Died May 2.1909. E.C. Pennington Born 1836, Died February 1906. I hope this will help someone. Mary
Dear Listers... I've been forced to change my web space provider. I received an email notifying me that I should move my files on or before July 15, 2001. I am not happy about this...but don't see any other choice. I can't afford to place my pages on a bannerless web provider...but I have found some alternatives. So...please change your bookmarks for the Pennington Group 7 page to: http://carmenj.my100megs.com/PenningtonPage/PRAGroup7.htm Thank you... In 1999 I collected Pennington census records for the Clearfield Co area. I located my complete list (including those I couldn't identify and link). Jacob & Lydia (Way) Pennington, , do have a son Robert b abt 1828, who'd be in the correct age range to be your Frank's father, but I can find no further record of him after 1850. Admittedly, my 1860 & 1870 census transcriptions cover only Clearfield Co - I'm not sure if there were any in other counties I skipped over. I will have to search the census indices again. There is only one Little family to be found in the 1850 census index for Clearfield Co, but there is no daughter Susan in the family listing. 1850 Chest Twp, Clearfield Co page 385 family 1431 Penington, Jacob 46* farmer $375 Lydia 46* Simon 23 Robert 22 **** this Robert is not found in Clearfield Co in 1860 or later Joshua 21 William 18 Henry 16 Isaac 16 Elizabeth 26 Catherine P 15 Lydia 10 Mary 6 Margaret 4 Hannah 2 William Wilson 23 Brian Cartwright
I would like to determne is the Isaac Penington line below is the ancestor of Edward and his son, Isaac, in Ashe Cty in the early 1800s. Yeahhhhh, I would like a Porsche, too. I'm going to be tuning out of the list for a while, my life has gotten too hectic in the last months to even open the mail. HOWEVER, I remain interested in the descendants of (Group 18)Isaac Penington, Mayor of London, and do have some info to share with interested parties. I hope all of you have a wonderful summer, and send Best Regards, Jim Cookman

For all persons connected with Group 2: I submitted a query to Gene at the PRA site regarding Frank & Robert to see if he had any information to help me, but he did not. I wondered if anyone else had any information to add, perhaps even from the 1850 census. In order to connect to group 2 or petition to form another group I need to locate a Robert Pennington, living in Clearfield County, in 1851. My grandfather was Frank (Franklin) Pennington born in Clearfield Co, PA 03/01/1851, son of a Robert Pennington and a Susan Little Pennington (per obit) whom I can locate no other information on other than Frank's obit and a cousin who confirmed they lived in Clearfield at the time of Frank's birth. Also, in regards to the DNA study, my brothers (4 are still living) are direct male descendants from this Frank Pennington. If I can connect to group 2, I can provide DNA for this line. So far, this is an unbroken male line from 1851 to the present. If I can find Robert, it would be an even longer line. Edna Pennington-Gable PRA Member Hiram, GA
I'm very sorry for a mistake I made in my post. I went back to the photo and the name is JAMES Pennington! Sorry if this has caused anyone any inconvenience. I noticed one Pennington while on vacation recently. He is buried in the Centerville Cem. near Ft. Scott, Kansas. There were no other Penningtons near his gravesite that I saw. As far as I know he is not one of my husbands Penningtons but we took a photo anyway. I will email it to anyone who wants a copy. His tombstone is newer than the grave, so someone is taking care of him... Paul N. Pennington, Died Jan 4, 1897, aged 59 yrs, 6 ms, & 15 ds. A side note about this cemetery.. I stepped through a hole in the ground and found my leg up to the knee. I noticed another foot hole less than 2ft in front of me. When I removed my leg, I could see rotting wood under the ground and lots of air space. I was not in the mood to examine it closer to see if there were remains evident there. It was so close to the surface, I wonder if it may have been something else besides a grave?? It's a part of my vacation I will remember thats for certain. My Grandparents and ggrandparents are buried in that cemetery as well as an Uncle and others. None are Penningtons. Just thought I would put this out there in case someone is looking for him.... Cher

Good Morning PRA list, Most of us know that this sort of thing happens all the time and yes we know that it should not go out on our PRA list but Please, please, let us have a little compassion. At one time or another we all have been taken in by some good sounding scheme. Now admit it! I have, you have, we all have. Again, please let us have compassion for the kind thinking person who started this. They only wanted each and every one of us to get some "un-earned" wealth. List, I have found my great-grandfather and my gggrandfather in Maryland. John J. Pennington b.1838/39 d. 1868 (found in the found in the 1880 Cecil Co. Md. Census.) His father Azarias Pennington b. 1801/02 d. 1868 (found in the 1850 Cecil Co.Md. Censes) Found my father's father Alexander Hamilton George Pennington in the 1880 Cecil Co. Census as a seven month boy. My grandfather Alexander H.G. has a brother named William Hyland Rutter Pennington. I am so excited about my finds. Now I need to find the father of Azarias and yesterday at the GenForm in Portland, Oregon I found a "Uriaz or Uriuz Pennington in the 1840 Cecil Co. Md. census, M704, roll 164, # 23085 film. If anyone can help me with more information on this Uriaz or Uriuz Pennington please contact me. HOW did this one get through?? cheers Julie "Please Note: DO NOT send me any attachments without prior notification and consent. Unless stated clearly in the body of my e-mail that there is an attachment please DO NOT open anything that may have attached itself." .... "Thank You!"
It got through because it was posted by someone who is a subscriber to the list. The spam filter lends credibitily to postings from subscribers and there weren't enough other "key words" to filter it out. Sorry about that.
