While we were in Texas someone asked about Henry Pennington of TN. This stuck in my mind and while searching Ancestry.com marriages I came across three. Henry Pennington Md in Giles Co TN on 4 Feb 1875 a Josephine Brown Henry Pennington md in Union Co TN 21 Mar 1875 Sarah A Thompson Henry Pennington md in Union Co TN 7 Mar 1880 Harriet Buckner It doesn't give any other information. It also has lots of William's. I would be willing to look up for anyone requesting info but only the names, date and county are listed. Artilla Williams Group 30
OOOPPPSS!!!! LESSON:: don't ever try to write facts from memory, especially before you've had that second cup of JAVA. The name Wilson Pennington's son should read," Wilson's son's, son Or Wilson;s grandson. Wilson had a son named Josiah and Josiah's son was named John Wilson Pennington,he was born in either Metcalfe or Monroe county, Ky. his mother was Sarah Jane Hunt Pennington.I do not think John W. was ever married. If this sounds promising, write me and we will go into it further. Tom Tom Pennington wrote: > John W. Hi, Just saw the message from Shirley Erickson (Hi Shirley!) and got the impression that Gene is the listowner. Am I just confused or have I gotten my lists mixed up? I have 14 so they sometimes overlap. Yes, the list has been slow. Aren't the folks out there still digging for our Pennington's? Well, here's a query for you. Does anyone descend from or have knowledge of, John W. Pennington b. ca. 1860 of Metcalfe County, KY? Thanks. Barb T P.S. Here's another quick query. Is anyone related to an Ethel Pennington Straus of Missouri? She died about 1980 so this one's kind of recent. Thanks again.
The list is slow, but I have just learned this week, not only is my mother a Pennington (group 16) but I have learned that my dad is also from a Pennington. Hannah Pennington who married William Harmer Bradfield. Then John Bradfield and Sarah Tucker >Jospeh Bradfield and Cynthia Carey> Samuel Thomas Bradfield and Hannah Wilkins>Benjamin Bradfield and Polly Gibson>Hannah Arcadia Bradfield and Isaac F. Lewis> to my grandmother Helen Mable Lewis and Robert Fredrick Setser>to my father then myself. I guess Penningtons are all around us. My dad also had a cousin marry a Pennington now living in NY. Gene, My last message from Pennington-L was for Aug 10. It seems that it has been quite slow lately. I think all the mail lists I belong to have been rather quiet of late. I've been selected for grand jury duty in the morning bright and early for all day. I hope it won't be too lengthy a day. School starts next week at the college and I'll be running amok for several days getting my schedule to work out. Glad to hear you are home safely. Hi There are a couple Penningtons on this site.....Lois http://moses.westberry.com/moses/files/namechange.pdf
Dear W.N., I have copies of several land records but have to scan them to see if they fit with yours. Nothing in my Marriage paper file on Levi. I will just send bare bones till I get back from my trip and then I can abstract them if you want them. 1806 Ashe Co.NC Deed from Benajah Penington to Levi Penington on Silases' Creek, near Micajah Penington's corner, 100 acres (note: Hugh was marked thru and Micajah written above) 1806 Ashe Co. NC Deed from Levi Pennington to Thomas Brooks 120 acres "on Piny Creek waters" 1801 Levi Pennington receives State Grant (NC) of 50 acres in Ashe Co. NC. 1802 State Grant (NC) to "John Long or Levi Penning" of 50 acres 1800 State Grant (NC) to Levi Pennington of 100 acres near the land he already owns 1805 State Grant (NC) to Levi Pennington of 100 acres "near a drean (sic) of the long Shoal Branch" 1801 State Grant (NC) to Levi Pennington of 100 acres near "his old line" 1812 Deed from William Lenoir to Levi Pennington for 200 acres "on both sides of Silas Creek" 1799 State Grant (NC) to Levi Pennington of 40 acres "on the bank of the North fork of New River" All of the above are in Ashe County, NC. 1795 Wilkes Co. NC State Grant to Levi Penington of 100 acres "on the west side of the North fork of New River" This last one is a deed witnessed by a Levi Penington. 1790 Micajah Pennington to William Landreth 95 acres of land, "on little Elk Creek of New River" Witnessed by Zachariah Wells Edward Penington Levi Penington (Z. Wells signed his name, the two Penington's made their mark) Proved in 1791. I don't have anything on S.C. since I've never been there to research. Do these look like your NC Levi? Barb Temple
Hi W.N. Got your message. Speaking of Mendonhall/Mendenhall surname, I have a Margery Mendenhall who married into my Martin's in PA. She married Thomas Martin and they had a son Moses, and that led eventually to me. I am getting ready for a short trip on Tuesday and have vol. work tomorrow so tight for time. After I get packed tonite, if I have time left, I'll dig out whatever I have on a Levi Pennington and see if he is likely to be yours. I know I have something, probably a land record/records. Now I'm curious. Barb T
Thanks for the email. The Levi side is about North Carolina, and South Carolina. Could you send me some of the records concerning Levi. Levi Sr., was married to we dont know, I would like to know. Levi Jr., was married to Martha Mendonhall. I mention the marriage bit because it might let you know if you have the right info, I, am after. Also Levi Sr., was from NC., and Levi was from Randolph County, SC.and William M. Pennington was his son. If you have info, and could share, I would be ever so greatful. Thanks, W. N. Hi W.N. Your apology was very gracious and my guess is it was well accepted. I only wish I had something on your Group 6, but I am descended from Wells Pennington, who is PRA's Group 32. What is your brick wall at this point? I can tell you a lot on Wells Pennington's branch and a little on some others, but Levi of Group 6 isn't familiar to me. I do have a couple copies of land records on a Levi, but don't know which one. I'm tied up tomorrow but if you are interested, I can dig them out on Sunday. Do you have any who strayed over into Kentucky? Barb T

Why don't you identify yourself, and get off of this sickening subject of COPYGRIGHT LAWS, this material is open to the public, its for their use, and if it is so pro- tected, why is is used thousands of times a day, its people like you that make me want to throw up, always griping about something. Never can you people contribute to any ones wants and desires of knowing things, but rather sit- ting around looking for something to bitch about. W. Thanks Carolyn I have received 14 of those messages from different senders and different subjects but same message. I have not opened any of the attachments as I was afraid it may contain some sort of virus. This must be really wide spread.
