Hello, I wanted to tell this list that, although I do not search the McGehee/Pennington lines, I do have a considerable amout of information on the Johnson surname which may prove useful to McGehee/Pennington searchers. I have numerous records on Isaac Johnson (1787-1876 Texas Co MO) , who is connected to McGehee and Pennington lines. Isaac Johnson married Elizabeth Shelton in 1816 in Warren Co TN according to his War of 1812 Pension File. I believe Isaac is a brother to my ancestor, John Johnson (1780/90 prob TN-1854 MO). I have one proven brother to my John, and he was William Johnson (1774/77-15 Jan 1815 Battle of New Orleans). Although I have never been able to prove Isaac is a brother to these other two men, I have thought it was true for a long time. If you have any Johnsons in your records, I will be glad to check my files to see if we can determine just how they fit together. Also, if you would share your Johnson info with me, I would be most appreciative. I have just recently started putting all my records into FTW. I have years of records to go through. But, perhaps we can assist each other. Thank you, Judy in TX

OK, I have the details for the reunion. It is September 1, 2001 at the Old Mulkey MH-Pavilion start time is noon. I spoke with my moms cousin on the phone just a few min ago to find out which descendants this was for. I am from group 16 but Marg was unsure of who to say. All she could tell me was that she knew all of Sylvester Burell and Dicey Sprowl/Sprawls Pennington descendants were coming (my line). She didn't know if the reunion was going back to Simeon and Elizabeth Pennington. I am not sure who to call to find this information out. Marg is not the contact person, maybe we can call Old Mulkey to see if they have details for the prognator of this reunion. Thank you, John, for your answer to my query about Elmina (Elmira) Pennington. I've had reservations about her being the daughter of Joel, but so many indications pointed me to believe it. Could you possibly email me the names of his children and who his daughters married? The only ones I have any record of are: William Riley and his twin, Fidelia, David A., Joel and Mahala. I would be so grateful for this favor. Does anyone have a Gladys and Ralp Pennington in their family tree? They may have had a son Robert Pennington who died in WWII 12/29/44 Battle of the Buldge. Any info and how to search this would be appreciated. Thank You. Sandy in VA.
Has anyone heard the details on the Pennington Reunion for this year? I believe it will be held at the Old Mulkey Meeting House. More details will be appreciated, as I do plan to attend. My mother called me today and said the Pennington Reunion will be held Sept 8 and the Rouse reunion Sept 22 I believe. Thanks Kristie

We're looking for evidence that Elmira(Elmina) Pennington b. 22June1829, IL, was truly the dau. of Joel Warner Pennington and Elizabeth Smith. Cannot find her listed with this family although I know that her mother, Elizabeth Pennington was living with her and her Joseph Trotter family in Hamilton Co., IL, in the 1870, 1880 census there. Could "Elminy" (as she was called) have had another name that she went by, also? Eleanor (Tinker) Lane <daretink@thegrid.net>

While looking at some newspaper citations, I find some apparent conflicting info... I have George H Pennington married to Margaret M with daughter Neome age 2 in the 1870 Floyd Co IN census. I now find in the WPA transcriptions of the Oct. 16, 1863 ed of a New Albany newspaper, the marriage of George H. Pennington and Maggie W. Stallings. Does anyone have any insight to help reconcile this apparent conflict? Was George previously married and Neome the d/o a first wife? Is the census wrong with the age? Is the WPA info wrong? Is this a different George H? Any info would be appreciated. Steve P

I suggest everyone buy virus protection software that automatically scans for a virus, but you have to update it often because new virus' are always coming online. If you have a virus, you need to know what it is. I usually go to www.microsoft.com to see what is new. Also try www.support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q49/5/00.asp. You can also scan for virus' on line at www.mcafee.com. Don't open anything that says attachment and has the words I love you, happy.....or I need your advice or anything similar. Those are the latest.
