Jane Harrison died in Glynn County Georgia. She resided in Wayne County, Georgia. Date of Death July 06, 1986. You probably need to search for Jane's obit in a Wayne County Georgia newspaper. This I believe is why you are not finding any information on the families below in Kentucky. Gladys LEHR Pennington married Ralph Lewis Pennington possibly in Omaha, NE around 1914. They had a daughter Phylis Pennington MOSS born maybe 5/15/1915. They had a daughter Jane PENNINGTON HARRISON born 21 March 1916, Douglas Co, Omaha, NE who died 7/6/1986 in Glynn, KY and she is buried in Resthaven Cemtery in Louiseville, KY. Jane was married to DR. William R. Richards. Thet had a son named Robert Pennington who died in World War II 12/29/1944 in the Battle of the Buldge. Don't know anything about this history or where it was. It would be deeply appreciated if you could pass this around and see if anyone connects and can help me learn more about my roots. At a brick wall as the cemtery will not give me any copies of any records and the funeral home stated the same thing in Louiseville, KY (Gladys LEHR PENNINGTON RICHARDS). I don't know if this is the law or if I didn't ask correctly. I wrote to them and called, but it didn't seem to make a difference, they said they had no records which I find hard to believe. In CA you buy the plot and get a deed, aren't all states like this? If anyone has any recommendations as to how I can obatin a death certificate or newspaper obit for Glynn Co or Wayne Co, where she resided it would be appreciated. I can't find any info on Phylis PENNINGTON MOSS and Jane PENNINGTON HARRISON died Jul 1986 in Jessup, GA. I haven't found her resting place yet or any other family member info. Jane and Phylis where very close cousins to my granmother Hazel Alice LEHR REESE CALVOS HOLMS NATHAN. Enjoy the reunion and may God bless you if you are able to attend. Is there any chance you could let me know if you find a Gladys LEHR PENNINGTON that married Mr. RICHARDS. Gladys was born 5/15/1915 in Omaha, NE. Ralph Lewis PENNINGTON, her 1st husband died there I believe. Gladys lived in Louiswville, KY and is buried in RestHaven Cemtery. Gladys passed in 3/31960.Owens Funeral Home did the arrangements, but I can't get any family info from them or the cemtery. Does KY have a law on providing that info? Is there anyway you can do an obit for me? It would be deeply appreciated. If you can provide a newspaper name for that time and a library address that would be appreciated also. Apparently her 2nd husband was Dr. William R. RICHARDS.At a brick wall in VA. Sandy

I'm sorry it is Wayne Co, Ohio. Thanks Sandy
I have been been researching my KY families and I have put a KY marriage site on my home page. There are a lot of Pennington marriages already on there and I have 13 more pages of Pennington names to add. Since I am researching the following names BRADFIELD, HADLEY, GIBSON, PENNINGTON, ROUSE LEWIS, SETSER, COOK, WRIGHT, BALLARD, CADWALADER, MURRAY, JAMERSON, SISK, ASHBY, SPRAWLS, DICKENS, FARR and various spellings I figured I would do a website for all of the names listed above not just of my families. I did this to help others who are also researching these names. I have much time, so I figured while I am looking at microfilm and books I will just get all of the information on anyone who has that last name. You can view the marriages at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ourancestry/kymar.htm Kristie

Steve, Thanks so much for your reply. Someone had sent me information showing the Wayne Pennington you mentioned below, and I am really inclined to believe this to be my gr-grandfather. However, in the information they sent, it listed information on ALL of the children of Rencenvey Pennington & Dorcas Whitecotton, with the EXCEPTION of Wayne. He was the only child that wasn't expanded upon, and I just haven't been able to find him! I hope the Ric Blake you spoke of responds to my e-mail. I am on the correct e-mail list for this type of search, aren't I? I wasn't sure. I just recently located Virginia Smith - Wayne was her 2nd marriage. Excited about that, anyway! Thanks again, and if you have any other thoughts for me, I'd appreciate it. Is there a way to contact Ric Blake via e-mail or otherwise if he doesn't respond in a reasonable amount of time? Hi List, There is a Pennington Reunion Saturday September 1, 2001 at Old Mulkey in Tomkinsville, KY. I confirmed this by calling Old Mulkey today. However, I still do not know who the descendants of who this reunion is for. That did not make since. I don't know how else to phrase that. I have made several calls to KY trying to find out more about this reunion. This reunion is held every year and has been for years. I do know the children and grandchildren of Cothern Pennington, Lee Pennington and Dennis Pennington will be there (sons of Slvester Pennington). I descend from John Clay Pennington through his son Sylvester (Bud) Burrell Pennington. This may help with who the reunion is for. This is Group 16. I am hoping to find out more tomorrow on the reunion. I will post to the list again tomorrow when I get more details. Kristie
Linda, I do indeed show a Wayne Pennington as a descendant of Rencenvey Pennington (b 1812 VA) and Dorcas Whitecotton. I also show that this Wayne was born about 1848 and died Feb. 1913. I don't have much more on specifics as I'm not researching this line, Ric Blake has done extensive research on this line and if he isn't able to respond soon, maybe someone else who's active with this line can give you more. As far as wayne Pennington and Virginia Smith, I can't confirm that connection to the line of Rencenvey Pennington. Do you have any Penningtons that were in Omaha, NE arount early 1900's? Sandy Robert Pennington died in the Battle of the Buldge (WWII) 12/29/44. His mother was Gladys LEHR PENNINGTON and father Ralph PENNINGTON. There were two daughters Phyliss and Jane PENNINGTON. Thanks, Sandy
Johnson surname. Judy, My husband is related to Johnsons. His grandmother was a Johnson. We are stuck on Isaac Johnson born June 19, 1789 probably in Ohio died November 23, 1840 in Anderson, Madison CO., IN. Isaac drowned in a mining camp. We cannot locate his wife's name or parentage of Isaac. Maybe you will have information on this line of the family. Isaac had at least three sons: John Johnson married Susan Goodner. Joseph Johnson, and William Johnson. I know nothing on Joseph nor William. The three brothers were born in Anderson, IN. John and Susan went on to Vermilion County,IL. You may contact me at my email address. I have numerous records on Isaac Johnson (1787-1876 Texas Co MO) , who is connected to McGehee and Pennington lines. Isaac Johnson married Elizabeth Shelton in 1816 in Warren Co TN according to his War of 1812 Pension File. I believe Isaac is a brother to my ancestor, John Johnson (1780/90 prob TN-1854 MO). I have one proven brother to my John, and he was William Johnson (1774/77-15 Jan 1815 Battle of New Orleans). Although I have never been able to prove Isaac is a brother to these other two men, I have thought it was true for a long time. If you have any Johnsons in your records, I will be glad to check my files to see if we can determine just how they fit together. Also, if you would share your Johnson info with me, I would be most appreciative. I have just recently started putting all my records into FTW. I have years of records to go through. But, perhaps we can assist each other.
